在畜禽养殖过程中，因舍内畜禽的密度过大，呼吸过程产生的二氧化碳(CO２)严重超标。二氧化碳因由家畜呼吸排出，而且比重大，所以在畜舍下部、畜体周围的浓度较高。
CO2气体对植物的影响
植物对CO2 是有饱和度的，当 CO2 浓度过高的时候，气孔会关闭一部分，这样就影响 了光合作用就像是光呼吸一样。大气中的二氧化碳浓度通常在 0.03％左右。作物进行光合作 用合成有机物时，二氧化碳是主要的碳源，因此增加大棚内二氧化碳浓度可加速蔬菜的生长。
